Lauren finished her career with the Dal Tigers, where she was a two-time U SPORTS qualifier and was honored as the Varsity Manager of the Year in 2024. She has also worked with Swim Nova Scotia and other provincial sport organizations.
Lauren graduated in 2025 from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Management and a Bachelor of Science (Recreation), along with a minor in Journalism from the University of King’s College.
Off the pool deck, you’ll find her training at PUSH, cozying up in local coffee shops, jamming out to her favorite tunes, or playing a competitive game of Settlers of Catan.

Lauren Ching
Senior Provincial

Lauren is entering her third season with HTAC and has about 17 years of swim coaching experience. In the summer she can be found at the beach organizing surf lifesaving sport.
She completed a Bachelor (Honours) in Speech Language Pathology at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, and in her 20s held open water titles and won a regional series.

Ava Green
Junior Provincial
green@htac.ca
This is Ava’s third season coaching with HTAC, after spending two years with the Calgary Patriots Swim Club. She is currently in her third year at Dalhousie University, studying Political Science and International Development. Ava’s coaching philosophy is simple: it’s not a matter of if, but when. She believes that with consistency, trust in the process, and a supportive team culture, every swimmer will reach their goals. She focuses on building confidence through routine, technical development, and celebrating progress—no matter how small. For Ava, watching athletes grow not just in skill but in mindset is the most rewarding part of coaching. Outside of the pool, she loves painting, surfing, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Coaching at HTAC has been an incredible journey for Ava, and she is proud to be part of a club that values courage, process, and team.
